How it Works

Assume 500 people are interested in Spotted Frogs and they all subscribe to a listserv list about Spotted Frogs. Subscriber #1 discovers a Spotted Frog in a unusual location and decides to share their enthusiasm for the find with the other subscribers. They send an e-mail message to the list. Subscribers #2 through #500 receive that message in their e-mail boxes. They read the message and may choose to respond if they wish.

Subscriber #5 recognizes that particular location for Spotted Frogs and decides to respond. Subscriber #5 may respond directly to Subscriber #1 by sending the response to her personal e-mail address, or Subscriber #5 may respond to the list by sending the message to the list's e-mail address. If Subscriber #5 responds to the list, his message will automatically be distributed to the other 499 list subscribers.
